Ways to deal with anxiety
Anxiety is the intensive, excessive and extremely repetitive fear about daily situations.
The symptoms associated with anxiety include restlessness, nervousness, feeling tense, always feeling there is an impending danger, increase in heart rate, feeling tired, unable to concentrate, excessive thinking, excessive sweating, feeling weak, trembling, and breathing so fast.
Things to do to stop anxiety:
1. Exercise.
Exercise is one of the best ways to calm down your mind and body.
It improves your health, and as we always say, a healthy mind is a strong mind.
There are common exercises you can engage yourself in to help you relax in order to avoid or manage anxiety. Some of these exercises are:
- Swimming.
- Running.
- Walking.
- Hiking.
2. Socialize.
Get outside, make friends, talk to people and hear people talk. This makes you smile and sometimes makes you forget about things you are not suppose to think about. Meeting new people and opening up to them and hearing their stories and how life is treating them is a good way to know how you fit in this world and also realize that not you alone is going through what you think you are going through because a lot of people are even going through worst.
3. Watch movies.
Watching movies especially the ones that makes you laugh often makes you forget about your problems and makes you stop thinking too much because one thing about anxiety is that, the more you think about your whole situation, the more anxious you become.
4. Listen to music.
Listen to not just any music but music that makes you feel like you are on top of the whole world. Listen to music that lifts your soul and makes you feel stronger. Listen to songs you love.
5. Read books.
Reading interesting books, I mean books that inspire you and makes you feel happy. This can take your mind off certain things and probably reduce or prevent stress and anxiety.
6. Quit smoking.
If you are a smoker then this may be the best time to quit because smoking worsens any case of anxiety. Just stop smoking.
7. Stop taking alcohol.
Alcohol is not good for any of the organ in your body. The more alcohol you take in, the more damage you cause to your entire body. On top of that, alcohol exacerbate any form of anxiety situations so please just stay away from it.
8. Have enough sleep.
Having enough sleep calms your nerves down, refreshes the mind, relaxes the body muscles and on top of it all, rejuvenate the body. At least seven hours of sleep must be observed daily. This is a very good way to avoid anxiety.
